I wrote this prayer years ago when my daughter was young, and I would say the first verse to her before bed. Then I said it to my son when he was little.  I felt that it said so much in so few words and communicated what I wanted them to know.

 

The Prayer of Protection

The light of God guides me,

The love of God surrounds me,

The power of God protects me,

The peace of God comforts me,

And the grace of God goes before me.

 

The mind of God inspires me,

The life of God flows through me,

The laws of God direct me,

And the presence of God watches over me.

 

The joy of God uplifts me,

The strength of God renews me,

The beauty of God inspires me.

Where ever I am, God is, and all is well!
